Many have said in the past that in order to write well, you've got to read, read, read. So I am attempting to do just that - and I'll capture little blurbs about what I've read, as well as what's on my list, here.
Currently reading Mary Karr's Lit. I was transfixed by the opening letter to her son. Particularly the way she becomes somewhat transfixed by her son - perhaps because my son is so small now, and imagining him as an adult seems so far from my grasp. As I dive into the main part of the book, I find myself wishing she would go back to her son again - though I am sure his time will come. I don't like self-destructive stories, but somehow I keep reading them: Let's Take the Long Way Home, Drinking a Love Story, you get the picture.
